AMY WINEHOUSE LOOK

My final black haired icon is the queen of jazz, forever in my heart, Amy Winehouse. I've loved her since forever, and I'll probably love her forever.

Amy always looked the same, sometimes she added a bow or a scarf to her hair, but her trademarks were always there. Enormous hair, enormous eyeliner wings. Same as with the Alison Mosshart look, I didn't really bother with primers and that jazz because I feel like Amy didn't either. Also, I'm only wearing eyeliner. I usually only bother with eye primers when I'm using a lot of eyeshadow because primer makes it look so much better.

Products used: Catrice defining blush in 020 Rose Royce, Max Factor CC cream in 50 Natural, Rimmel Exaggerate liquid liner, Flormar black eye pencil, Catrice white eye pencil, HEMA eyebrow pencil, Max Factor False Lash Effect mascara, Catrice absolute eye colour in 090 Bring Me Frosted Cake, Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder in Peach Glow, Unity Cosmetics lipstick in Pink, Flormar eyeshadow palette in 07, Jelly Pong Pong bronzer.
I used Max Factor CC cream as foundation. Then I started on the eyebrows. Amy's brows are quite dark. I first drew the outlines using a dark brown eyebrow pencil. Then I filled them in with a dark brown eyeshadow -the last one from pictured Flormar palette- and to darken them a little bit more, I used a little bit of matte black eyeshadow (not pictured) and I took that through as well.
For the eyes, I drew on a thick cat eye using liquid liner. On my brow bone I applied a matte off white eyeshadow to highlight a little bit. I lined my upper waterlines with a black eyeliner pencil to avoid weird gaps. On the bottom waterlines I applied a white eyeliner pencil. I coated both upper and bottom lashes with mascara and I applied some single false eyelashes in the outer corners.

Now back to the skin. Amy did have quite hollow cheeks. Let's not discuss why she had them, they were just there. Therefore, I contoured my face a lot using my Jelly Pong Pong bronzer (the one in the picture without the cap because I dropped it and it broke *sobs*). I also applied some blush to fake my way to cheekbones. I set everything in place with Rimmel Stay Matte powder.
I didn't really feel like getting a Monroe piercing so I added a small dot using black eyeliner.
On the lips I used my Unity Cosmetics lipstick in 132 Pink, which isn't pink at all but we've talked about that.

Amy's beehive was really difficult to recreate! I think there's some sort of magic in there (that's why it's so big! It's full of secrets!). Gravity really wore me down and I ran out of volumising powder halfway. I tried my best, I backcombed my hair a LOT and some more and I tried to make it as big as possible. Gravity, you won. Well played.

Outgrowth palooza

I enjoyed doing all these looks so much! Maybe doing these looks was a big mistake because I am feeling so nostalgic about my black hair! I will show you guys my new hair when it's done (if you want a hint, it's on my Pinterest!)
