Rimmel Moisture Renew In Love With Ginger review

Orange lips has been a trend for several years now. I really wanted to jump on the bandwagon and I picked up Rimmel's Moisture Renew lipstick in In Love With Ginger.

Argh!! Stupid security tags!!

In Love With Ginger is an orange which is more on the redder side of the spectrum. I chose it because I thought it would be a rather flattering colour. Coral colours tend to look really bad on me, so I didn't want a coral-orange lipstick, neither did I want a neon orange because I didn't think that was very wearable.

The formula is really creamy, it applies like butter. It's not sticky nor drying, which is really great because those two things really bother me. The smell makes me nostalgic for some reason, it has a very 'make up' smell. It's not a bad smell, just a nice and sweet (vanilla?) smell. It has a satin finish. One coat is not fully opaque but two are, and it's very buildable so that's fine. Lasting power is great, I needed a touch-up after about three hours. Three hours lasting power is fine (if not great) for a non-matte drugstore lipstick.

Now, I hear you thinking! Didn't you already own MAC's Lady Danger? Yes, I do. I compared the two and In Love With Ginger is way more orange than Lady Danger, as in there is a noticeable difference. Not to mention that Lady Danger is a matte.

As I was playing around with my new lipstick, I created a fun ombré with MAC's Lickable. It's definitely out there but I think it looks nice! I'd definitely wear this with something basic on my eyes.

My ombré technique does need some more practice, however I think it looks kind of cute for summer. I'm all about two-toned lips! We need to make that happen, or is it already happening? Not sure..

Here's a full face with my new lipstick. I matched with my headband, on the eyes I wore a brown smokey eye, cat eyes and some gold glitter in the inner corners. I think this is a great addition to my lipstick collection and I'll probably wear it a lot!

Do you like orange lipstick? Are we going to make two-toned lips happen?
