Empties May / June 2015

It's been a while but I finally collected enough trash to write another empties post! Just like last time I'm writing short reviews about products I've used up, and I'll rate them with the very prestigious sparkling heart emoji.

NYX Born To Glow Liquid Illuminator

This is one of the first liquid highlighters I've ever used, and if you've been a long time reader you might have stumbled upon a review of this one. Long story short, it's okay. If you're going for that #strobing #glowingfromwithin look this product is fine, if you use it under your base. It works really well with other products and you can mix it with other products as well. I didn't like this one too much as an actual highlighter on top of your base because it contained too many glitter chunks. It also doesn't blend too well on top of other products. I rated it three and a half sparkling heart emoji because I didn't like it as a main highlighter on top of other products, but I really like it as a radiance priming thingy. I would even give it four sparkling heart emoji's if this weren't a highlighter but a luminizing priming product.
Would I repurchase? Perhaps, it's nice to use underneath your base but I'm trying to limit my amount of base makeup on a daily basis.

Lush Let The Good Times Roll Cleanser

This cleanser was a birthday gift from my sister and I LOVE it! It smells like cookie dough and it contains little bits of popcorn. This is one of those products that leave a layer of oil on your skin, which is really nice. My skin is also really sensitive and it didn't react to it, so that's just wonderful. I didn't rate it five stars because I think it's a little bit overpriced and I didn't get to use it up before its expirey date (I used it up anyway because #YOLO)
Would I repurchase? I would, if I were in a #treatyoself mood. However, I did find a new cleanser to replace this one and that brings us to the next product.

De Tuinen Dode Zee Cleansing Milk + Extra Crème

So looking for a new cleanser was prety hard but I ended up at the Dutch health and vitamin store De Tuinen. Their oil selection is brilliant and they have lots of natural products. The entire range of Dode Zee (Dead Sea) products is hypo allergenic, I know that the term hypo allergenic is used quite loosely but it doesn't contain any alcohols, colorants, preservatives, perfumes and it is PH neutral. I started using the cleansing milk every morning and night and within a few weeks my skin became so radiant! I didn't change anything else so I know that it must be this cleansing milk! So when I finished my first bottle I also bought the moisturizer, which is nice but not holy grail like the cleanser. However, I gave both of them five starts because I LOVE THIS and it's quite inexpensive. If you're ever in The Netherlands, definitely pick these up if you have dry and sensitive skin. They also have loads of discounts online.
Would I repurchase? The picture says it all, doesn't it? I'm on my third bottle of cleanser and my second jar of moisturizer.

Flormar Make-Up Fix Spray

I got this setting spray from my last visit to the Flormar store in Turkey. I used this one on occassions when I needed extra staying power because I usually try to stay away from aerosol sprays as much as I can (they're not very good for your skin). However, it did do the job and it was maybe €5. Also, it didn't leave a film or a noticable layer on top of my face. I rated it three and a half sparkling heart emoji because the smell wasn't too pleasant but what bothered me most is that there's no information on the ingredients.
Would I repurchase? I'm definitely buying a bottle or two on my next visit to Turkey (17 days eek!)

Real Techniques Buffing Brush

I'm guessing you didn't expect a brush to be featured in an empties post, right? It literally shed all its hairs when I wanted to clean it the other day. I hadn't been using it too much recently because.. it was shedding. However, it was a good brush! Before it started shedding I haven't had any complaints about it, and I'm quite sad that it died on me. I'm not too surprised, though. I have been using this thing for almost two years straight so I think it's been worth its bucks. What I don't like is that I can't repurchase it without buying the entire set. Also, it isn't as nice as some other Real Techniques brushes (like the Blush Brush, Contour Brush and the Deluxe Crease Brush).
Would I repurchase? Well unless my entire Core Collection is falling apart (which I really hope not) I'm just going to buy a different buffing brush. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Mac Fix+

I'm pretty impressed that it took me almost a year to finish my first bottle of Holy Water. I've written about uses for this product on quite a few occasions and I still really like it. I rated it five out of five sparkling heart emoji's because it just works and it doesn't irritate my skin and it's good to use on a daily basis. It is horribly overpriced for what it is, though. I'm not gonna fight you on that.
Would I repurchase? I already have, the new bottle looks way nicer!

PS: I'm really sorry about the orange background I hope it doesn't hurt your eyes too much.
