Lazy Sunday #1

I've been thinking about adding more non-beauty related topics to my blog. Today I'm introducing Lazy Sunday, in which I talk about things that might be relevant to your interests when you're either hungover or just having a lazy Sunday. Today's subject: hangover films.

1. Ratatouille

What IMDB says: A rat who can cook makes an unusual alliance with a young kitchen worker at a famous restaurant.
Films for kids are always a good choice when you're hungover because you don't have to pay too much attention. I watched this one for the first time the other day and it's adorable.
Note: trigger warnings for guns (and food obviously)

 2. Pride

What IMDB says: U.K. gay activists work to help miners during their lengthy strike of the National Union of Mineworkers in the summer of 1984.
Pride is such a feel-good film, even though it's a bit tragic at some points. The overall message is very hopeful. I really enjoyed watching this.

3. Fantastic Mr Fox

What IMDB says: An urbane fox cannot resist returning to his farm raiding ways and then must help his community survive the farmers' retaliation.
All Wes Anderson films are perfect lazy Sunday material, but this one is my personal favourites. I remember watchting it alone in the theater when it came out.

4. Chef
What IMDB says: A chef who loses his restaurant job starts up a food truck in an effort to reclaim his creative promise, while piecing back together his estranged family.
Such a feel good film, perfect for a Sunday afternoon while enjoying a lot of food. Make sure you have some snacks while watching this, though.

5. The Drop

What IMDB says: Bob Saginowski finds himself at the center of a robbery gone awry and entwined in an investigation that digs deep into the neighborhood's past where friends, families, and foes all work together to make a living - no matter the cost.
This is literally 106 minutes of Tom Hardy and a puppy.
Note: trigger warning for guns and violence

Obviously I could post more, but I'm planning on making this a more regular thing so I might make another one of these lists in a while. What are your favourite films to watch on a lazy day?
